The search for the missing LaSalle toddler

Sunday

The missing toddler, aged three, was last seen at 9:45 a.m. near Newman Boulevard in LaSalle with her mother and Chihuahua.

Her mother reported her missing about six hours later from a fireworks shop in Coteau-du-Lac, prompting an SQ search.

Monday

Search efforts expanded across LaSalle, Coteau-du-Lac and the Ontario border as teams combed fields and woods.

A dead Chihuahua, believed to be last seen with the toddler, was found Monday afternoon along the highway, 10 km from the fireworks shop.

Monday Night

Her mother, Rachel Todd, was arrested and charged with child abandonment following the latest search efforts.

That night, media uncovered her TikTok video posted hours before the toddler vanished, warning: “You try that again and it’s going to get ugly.”

Tuesday

The search widened into eastern Ontario with helicopters, drones and ground teams deployed.

Her father issued social media appeals, urging residents to check surveillance and dashcam footage.

Wednesday

Police said the toddler was now last seen Sunday around 2 p.m. in the Casselman–St. Albert area and appealed for a key witness.

That sighting narrowed the search near Highway 417, with SQ and OPP deploying drones and additional teams.

Later Wednesday

The toddler is found by Ontario Provincial Police in the St. Albert region shortly after 2 p.m.. She was conscious and able to speak.

Her father later posted: “Thank you everyone. Please allow me and my family this time with our girl.”
